Placed.au is a forward-thinking and innovative recruitment firm originally based in Australia. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our growing team in our brand-new open-plan office in Asoke (Soi 21).
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will play a key role in the preparation of financial statements, managing internal controls, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have advanced accounting knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to mentor junior accounting staff while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other reports in compliance with accounting principles.
- Overseeing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Performing reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns and related documents.
- Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identifying opportunities for improving accounting processes and implementing efficient systems.
- Mentoring and supervising junior accountants, providing guidance and support in their tasks.
- Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 3-7 years of proven relevant experience.
- Must have a TOEIC score of 750 or above.
- Must have excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in preparing and reviewing financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements following GAAP or IFRS.
- Strong understanding of general ledger management and chart of accounts maintenance.
- Skilled in performing account reconciliations, including bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Experience with budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with preparing tax filings and returns.
- Ability to assist in preparing for internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Strong ability to analyse financial data and generate reports to support decision-making.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and advanced spreadsheet functions (e.g., Excel).
- High level of accuracy and precision in managing financial data and preparing reports.
- Ability to assess complex financial data, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain financial concepts and reports to management or external parties.
- Ability to mentor, guide, and manage junior accounting staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address discrepancies, inefficiencies, or financial concerns.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Must be willing to work in Asoke (Soi 21), 5 days a week, between 8 am to 5 pm.

- Working Hours: Mon – Fri / 8.00 am – 5.00 pm
- Location: Bangkok, Thailand (Onsite)
